Zohran Mamdani, a young Queens assemblyman and Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, has made a firm commitment: he will not cooperate with the immigration raids pushed by the Trump administration and will defend the migrants living in the Big Apple.

 In a recent interview with CNN, Mamdani declared with conviction that he will stand firm and fight against the creation of “the largest deportation force in the history of the United States.”

At just 33 years old, Mamdani has become the first Muslim and openly socialist candidate who could govern the country’s largest and most diverse city.
